The figure of Abraham, known primarily from the Book of Genesis, is often described as the common father of Jews and Christians and thus the founder of a “Judeo-Christian tradition.” Judaism and Christianity have, however, often interpreted the Abrahamic narratives of Genesis in ways that are different and sometimes diametrically opposed.
